    "#d99c1e as colour for text is not up to the W3 standards and thus to be avoided.

    In Opera, your text is black and impossible to read.

    Yes it does, but things are slowly changing and this orangy colour can easily be approached by choosing an accepted colour like CC9933 or CC6633.

    Of course everyone is free to do as (s)he pleases, but a minor correction in a code can make the site accessible to more people, and make it ready for the future.
