Congratulations on the new camera Bill! There's nothing quite like unpacking a new camera for the first time
That 20x zoom is quite handy to have built in. At best I can only achieve about 11x zoom at full resolution with something I can barely hand hold!
Hope you have great fun rediscovering the world seen through the eye of a camera!
Graeme
Thanks Graeme. A new camera does bring back the enjoyment.

Yep, even my camera inside my telephone does.
I used t take pictures, but I never had the money to develop them.
So you can imagine how glad I was when digital camera's came
on the market, and I payed a hell of a lot of money for one of the first ones.
I could buy like 15 of those now for the money I payed. But it was worth it.
The only problem with those digital camera;'s is when you shoot out of a
moving car, it really distorts the picture.
But I am glad you have a new one, and you enjoy it with all the new gadgets.
I love gadgest too
be aware, not to become a ware.
Thanks Denis.
About the only gadget included with the camera is a lens hood. Everything else is built into the camera body.

Very nice shots Bill. Very well done.
How much control over the shot does your camera give you? Can you control the sensitivity (ISO), Aperture (F-stop) and Exposure. Typically, that is where camera manufacturers cut corners.
Just recently, I pulled one of my old point and shoots out of it's bag. I got frustrated with the lack of control of the shot and it was back in the bag within 5 minutes.
DSLR's, medium and large formats are expensive. But they give you oh so much more control of how the shot will come out.
Hi John,
Full Control of all settings. Complete Manual Operation is available as well as Aperature Priority, Shutter Priority, Programmable settings, pre programmed settings, Full Automatic. ISO settings from 80 up to 3200.
Full specs are in the link I provided in a previous post.
I know what you mean about wanting control of the camera. If it doesn't offer a manual mode of operation I wouldn't have it. Even when I owned a Canon A-1 it was always on manual mode. My old Canon Ftb only had manual operation so that is what I enjoyed using.

The above telephoto shot of the horse was taken just before this standard shot of the scene.
