Default How to link to external index page

Hi, I would appreciate anyone who can help me out on this problem. I couldn't figure out how to link my page to an external index file. I have created a photo gallery using a program called Web Gallery Wizard. The program generate several files including an index file. I have a "gallery" button on my homepage. In the link menu (under web properties) I couldn't figure out how to link the button to the external index file. Please give me a clue.
    Thank you.

What I did is link to the web address where it's published.
I did http://www.domain.com/foldername/index.html, depending on where you posted it.
If you uncheck the "correct address automatically," you just need to enter the foldername/index.html part of the location.

Thank you Merlin. I have tried your suggestion but still couldn't get it. I think it's the way I entered the URL. The folder containing my external index file is on my local hard disk, in the same folder with the website I created with Web Designer (on the desktop). When I launched the gallery separately, the complete URL is like this: C:\Users\Abd Karim\Desktop\RAJEEV WEBSITE\Rajeev's Gallery\index.htm. So in the "link to web address" I typed this: http://Users/Prof. Abd Karim/Desktop/RAJEEV WEBSITE/Rajeev's Gallery/index.htm. When I export and publish and click the gallery link, I got a message "broken link". Any idea how to solve this problem?

You need to use an FTP software like Filezilla to upload your gallery files to a folder you create at your host online.
    https://www.ohloh.net/projects/filez....7.1_win32.zip
As long as it works when you double-click the index.html file of the gallery on your computer, it will work when the button is linked to it on your website.

Since it is on your local disk, try it without the http://

    Welcome akarim

Create a folder on your web directory at your Internet Service Provider. This folder needs to be in the same directory that your websites index file is.

Name the folder Gallery. Place your gallery index.htm or index.html file in this folder and any other files and folders created by the gallery software.

From your website link to your website and then the folder.

For example, if your website address is www.mywebsite.com then link to www.mywebsite.com/Gallery

    Charlie and Garry,

Thank you all for your suggestion. Charlie, I have tried with and without http:// but didn't work. I will try Garry's suggestion and hopefully it will work (I think it should). However, I'm sure there must be a way to test it on the local machine (I have tried before using a combination of Webstyle 4 and Dreamweaver and it worked nicely when tested on a local disk).

To test it on your own HDD using the hypertext transfer protocol (http) you will need to install a web server on your PC.
http:// will never work locally other wise.
Your links for local resources need to be file:///C:/Users/Abd Karim/Desktop/RAJEEV WEBSITE/Rajeev's Gallery/index.htm - which is what Dreamweaver will have used internally.

However, this will not work when you upload your site.

Basically you need to place the entire gallery folder into the root of the export folder of your web designer site.
In the link address in XWD, you would enter: /Rajeev's Gallery/index.htm and uncheck 'Correct address automatically'

I also recommend you edit the folder name from Rajeev's Gallery/index.htm to rajeevs-gallery/index.htm
