Default How to vector objects like text or other ?

    Hello all,

I have an issue, about vectoring some objects like text or other.
When needed to export or save in another format, e.g. Adobe Illustrator,
they ask me to "vector" all objects.
How can this be done in CorelDraw x4 ?

    Thnx for your feedback.

Not sure but perhaps it's asking whether to export text as CURVES or TEXT. If exporting to AI, the export box pops up which includes that option. If the file's going to another computer that may not have the particular font used, check 'export text as curves'. Although it won't be editable later as text.
    Just a faint guess......

Save text as a PDF then export/import into a vector program.

In making a .pdf, you can select convert text to curves. Some items will not import correctly into Illustrator. Whereas Illustrator, they say, is more advanced, it doesn't have as many gradient types or transparency types and so these will be reinterpreted. Sometimes that is okay. Sometimes not. Illustrator may not understand even where the page starts and ends. I've had this problem with .eps files.

If you are going cross-platform, you must create text as curves or outlines as unless your font is open type (read by MAC and PC) and installed on both systems, the fonts may change when opened in the other program. This also can happen if they are on a PC and don't have your fonts.

If it has to be edited, then save the .pdf for editing and zip 'em the fonts or use standard ones you'll know they will have, something free from dafont.com if you don't want to step on toes.

Great advice, it reminds one to stop and think before proceeding, considering the end result on the font side.
