Decided to try and expand my territories. I've seen multiple times in the past few years some amazing work created with Photoshop, so I decided to go ahead and try. I plan to start doing more because it will better my skills in this program, and I need to be as fluent as possible with quite a few programs to get into a good college! Also, since I don't have the money for a ton of paint at the moment, it'll better my hand at getting more into paint. I used a photo as a reference for most of it... hey, ya gotta start somewhere! So, please critic as much as you can, thanks a lot! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

    Hi Steve,

That is excellent! The only critique I would have is the lower right (her left shoulder) seems a little misshaped. Everything else is amazingly well done.

I agree about the left shoulder. The rest of the image is superb.

The picture is not always correct! Best to use your own artistic mind!

    Any better?

The hair, the face, the neck are all superb. The hand is great too but to me it just doesn't feel like it belongs with this beautiful young girl. The lines of the knuckles and all are great I just see the hand as too thick and worn to belong with that face.

Phenomenal! With that kind of talent, I wouldn't worry too much about college. That one and a few more like it and you've pretty much written your own ticket to success!
Absolutely breath taking work Steve,Great Job!

Steve it looks wonderful. The only thing I can say critically is that the index finger doesn't quite look right to me -- something about the bulbous lightened area near the middle knuckle. I can 'see' the comments about the sense that maybe the hand isn't hers. I wish it were my hand! http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

    Regards, Ross

PS - I agree with Jeff. Don't worry about college. Your portfolio is good already and would likely get you into any school of your choosing. If you are hoping for scholarships spend as much time as you can researching what is out there. There are many which need to be applied for - if you don't find them, they won't find you.
