I just don't get it

Hi,

I've just started using Xara3D and these tutorials are really good. I understand spinning a simple shaped logo by using a painting a basic shape etc, but I'm trying to make this png do the same thing but it's just too complicated, only want to spin it horizontally, any help much appreciated.

I'm not sure if I understand very well what you are trying to do, but I'm attaching an animated gif to see if it is what you want, if so you I've got that following the next steps.

- Take the original picture and paste it in xara extremme
- using shape editor trace a shape following the contour of your drawing.
- select your drawing and shape and intersect them to eliminate the background and get your drawing with a transparent background.
- copy the drawing to buffer (ctrl + c)
- Export drawing to png format (true color + alpha )
- Open xara 3d
- Eliminate all text you can have
- Paste your drawing (ctrl + v)
- In texture options load the png file you export before.
- In animation select horizontal animation

Welcome ads. Creating the spinning cross in Xara3D is fairly straight forward but you'll need to import this animation into Xara Xtreme to add your text.

Cheers Mike. I was puzzling over a way to actually get the text applied to the cross. I couldn't think of any easy (or for that matter difficult) way of doing it.

I think it would be possible with a 90 degree swing animation and exporting the gif, rotate slightly and repeat export etc and then rebuilding a new animation in XX?
