How do I disable/speed up freehand latency

I can't find an answer anywhere on the web, so I'll ask it here:
How do I disable/speed up the latency for editing a shape with the freehand tool?

I found it very handy in XX4 to directly edit a shape with the freehand tool, the waiting time now is very annoying when using a sketchtablet.

If there is no option for this, I would really want one ASAP. This really is a showstopper for me...
