Good one Bob, take it a little farther and it would look like a lace doily.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
Nice template, Eric. I'll add yours to the others I've collected. Thanks!
I like that offset green to blue square one you did, Larry. The added effect from the off-center blends is neat-o.
I agree with Larry, Bob. A bit more work and you'll have a tatted Xtreme doily you can use around your virtual home.
The creative juices are starting to flow now,
Harry
I couldn't resist working through this 'How to Make an Eco Friendly Vector Poster' by Simona Pfreundner tutorial posted on vector tuts+. It's a splendid tutorial showing an example of how to use the ray effect to enhance a poster's background.
My version of the Eco Friendly Vector Poster was created entirely in Xara Xtreme Pro 5. I'm sure the techniques can be easily adapted to other programs as well. So, don't let NOT having Adobe Illustrator deter you from giving it a try, that is if you're so inclined. Simona did such a fine job on the tutorial it's a shame to pass it up.
I changed some of the poster wording to match that on Open Sky Film's site, corrected the spelling mistakes and fixed the ray spacing on my version of the poster (note rays at 3 o'clock position on the original poster vs. my rendition).
My thanks to Simona Pfreundner, vector tuts+, and Open Sky Film,
Harry

I like that.
You two are crackin' me up. Nice job.
Juergen, your tree reminds me of one of the trees in Lord of the Rings. Unless that's a self-portrait .
that tree is indeed a self portrait. It is the character I play in World of Warcraft :=)
And it is indeed pretty close to an ent, so you can call him treebeard.
Somewhere back in the beginning of this thread I mentioned a dart board. Since I'm still stuck on playing around with 'rays', I've been working, off and on, on my own version of a dart board. I'm not exactly happy with this one, for some reason, but, I've decided to post it anyway. Any thoughts for improvement will be taken into consideration.
Thanks for looking,
Harry
