Default Help with AD layout for magazine

I am going to place an ad in a local community magazine for my husbands business. It's the kind of magazine that people hang onto for the year as it provides alot of local - community specific info.

    It is a 2" x 4" spot.

I've come up with the following (all very similar) and would appreciate any guidance from the many talented and experienced people here.

You can reference the website at www.rvrs.ca

Also for reference, here is the new business card I "think" I'm going with.

I'm also attaching (as reference) the 3 sample pages they sent me from last years magazine.

    Looking forward to your feedback...

I just thought I would upload the revised ad layout.
The rep suggested I change it around and have all visual at top of ad as that is how people read them.

I also added a lighter strip on the bottom half of the green, trying to make it easier to read.

I'll send it off today and if they make any further suggestions, I'll up my final.

Hi Doby, I design ads for the publication that my husband and I produce. First off I have to say the revised ad is much better, but when you are working with a small space less is more. You could consider listing less services and making the words "and so much more" bigger.

Definitely agree with Frances, in fact, I believe the 'less is more' advice was mentioned during discussions about your business card design

    Just a suggestion

A quick remix to better define beginning and end to a scanners eye and used image with warmer tones.

Edit - I prefer the call to action in the 4th version.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

    I've made the following changes
    • Reduced the wordage (less is more)
    • Enlarged the "and so much more"
    • Used the warmer picture
    • and closed off the bottom with the opposite colors.

I've done two versions for the phone number at the bottom dark vs light.

    Does this look better?

Also tried this using the same top color on the bottom but adding a little green in the middle.

Yes better. The one on the right, if I were to choose.

Looks much better. I think the one on the right with the light phone number is better.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Was that the one of the right from the first set or the 2nd set?
