Default My Papers Aren't Showing Up

I'm going through "An Introduction To Corel Painter" from Ryan Church's website. The section I am viewing is about papers and in it he shows us how to make a new texture by capturing a paper.

He uses the selection tool and selects a part of his City Chase painting. You can find that painting in his personal artwork section. Then he goes into papers and uses capture paper and continues to create a background texture using sharp chalk. When he sketches with that brush you can see the texture from his paper forming.

I've done all these steps. I captured the paper and it shows up fine in the papers section.

But when I use sharp chalk, all I get is a muddy streak and not the texture I made.

How do I fix this problem? Thanks.

Try reducing the opacity of the brush.

Can you post a jpg of the section you are using for the paper. So long as it is only a small section it should be OK. Also if you can tell us what the brush settings are that you are using.

You do need to have high contrast in the image being used for the paper.

Post the Painter version. There was a version that didn't work as it said.

I don't know how to do post a jpeg.

    The brush settings are:

    Size 127, Opacity and Grain23%,

    And it's Corel Painter XI.

I have had the opacity up to 100%.

Added: And wouldn't posting a Jpeg of the video violate copyright protection laws?

Try this, open the papers palette (menu/window/library palettes/show papers) increase the contrast setting to around 350% and your paper texture should pop out a bit more.

I've done that too. It didn't work.

Added: Okay, I was able to find out how to post a jpeg. The big piece of art is called City Chase by Ryan Church. It is found on his website here:

    http://www.ryanchurch.com/05PER.htm

Two of those images are my settings and what it looks like when I try to make the texture. And there are two image from Ryan Church's "An Introduction To Corel Painter XI of what I am trying to accomplish.

I just hope I'm not violating any copyright protection laws because I don't want to get you guys in trouble.

It looks like your scale (the first adjustment) is set very low and your paper texture is just a bunch of small tiles.
A setting of 100% would be equal in size to the original capture.
