    Default Shadow Tool Improvement

    It would be cool if the Shadow Tool could do something like this...

    I would also like to be able to detach the shadow from the base of the object. Consider that a floating object wouldn't touch its shadow.

    Yes with the current shadows set you simply:
    Arrange>>Convert to editable shapes>>Ungroup

    Any further styles added to the shadows set should allow the same separation.
