Can I insert a Xara menu in a MS Word table?

Is it possible to insert a drop down menu from Xara into a MS Word table that will be uploaded onto a website? I tried to use the drop down ActiveX controls in Word, but couldn't figure out how to add a hyperlink to the items in the list, so I thought I might be able to use a Xara menu instead. I'm open to any other ideas too

I'm not sure if it is possible. Which version of Word are you using? Are you saving from Word to html?

Word 2007. Yes, it is saved as a web filtered html doc. Here is a link to the existing spreadsheet as it appears on the website. I am trying to add a drop down menu to the bottom of the second table. The last line item has many attachments (all pdfs) that need to go with it and rather than making a seperate line for each attachment, I was hoping to add a drop down list that they can choose from and click to download.

I'm not sure if what I came up with is the best solution, but it does seem to work.

1. Create your word document and save as your filtered html.
2. Create your Menu Maker drop down menu with links to your pdf files.
3. Open the htm file created by Menu Maker and copy the line of code with the <script> tags.
4. Open your Word created html file in a plain text editor. Paste the line of code from the Menu Maker htm file into the <td> tag for the table cell you want the dropdown list to appear.
5. Save the html file.

You will need to place the Menu Maker javascript and image files in a folder accessable by your html file.

The attached zip file contains a generic Menu Maker dropdown and a Word 2007 filtered html file. The html file contains a single image and a table. The Menu Maker dropdown contains a single button dropdown list with subitems.

It is just a base example for you to examine.

I can't quite make it work? Not surprising since I know almost nothing about html coding! But I thought I had it right . Nothing is showing up in the cell though?? (I havn't linked the pdf's yet, but the menu should still show up?)

Looking at the source for your page the line from the Menu Maker file is not within a table cell tag. It is immediately after the body tag and within a <div> .

The js you have highlighted is actually for the menu bar at the top of the page which works just fine, but I went looking in the page source for the js for the menu i thought i put within the table ("2852_RFI015_Att") and couldn't find it anywhere? I will do a little investigating and post back.

Aha!! Success I forgot to attach the menu files to the website . Go figure, now to add the pdf files....
