How does one make a circle with Corel Painter XI? I can't draw them freehand as they come out very shaky.
Thanks.

I only have Painter X, but I don't imagine the toolbox has changed much from the example shown.

Bob.

Thank you, but that circle box is just not there in XI.
but is the rectangle box there - if so, as Bob says it may be behind this, and you need to click on the [very small] little black triangle at the bottom right and drag it out
I currently use painter 11 - it will be there somewhere whichever painter version you use
don't wish to be a 'wet blanket' but a good read of the help files might be an idea here

Yes it is (it is in IX, X and the new version 11). If you see the square instead of the circle, left mouse click and hold till you get the fly out to select the circle. Just clicking on the little triangle doesn't work on v.11. You must click and hold the button down till it pops up.
I only ask for help here if I can't find it in the index.
Thanks, Steve and Fes. I'd say that it was a fairly pointless UI change...change for the sake of it, in fact.
Probably these cosmetic changes mask the fact that there's little new under the hood.
The comparison chart between X and 11 doesn't exactly look earth-shattering.
Looks worth waiting for v.12 or even v.13.

Bob.

These suggestions did help guys. Thanks.

I understand - in this case you would need to know that in painter it is called 'oval' not 'circle' shape, otherwise difficult to find I agree
But just reading the help section can in itself help you learn the program, by suggesting things you can try out
Bob - the tool bar appearance is now very close to that of a well known 'industry standard' graphic suite....

Now I have a new problem with circles. I can't seem to erase any part of it other than undo, but undo gets rid of the whole thing and I only want to erase a part of it.
I have tried the erasers to do so.
