    Default Placeholder and html problem

    Hi,

    I'm trying to link a place holder to a directory with the html created by panorama studio.

    The code generated by panorama studio is :
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="content-type"
    content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1">
    <title>New panorama 2</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <div align="center"><applet
    archive="panoStudioViewer.jar"
    code="panoStudioViewer.PanoStudioViewer.class"
    name="New panorama 2" height="480" width="800">
    <param name="pano" value="New panorama 2.xml"> </applet>
    </div>
    </body>
    </html>

    The problem is the web designer page only works if its saved in the folder that the panorama studio export files are in.

    The above is no good as I'd like to have multiple place holders on the page.

    Panorama studio exports the html along with the jpg, xml and java file

    Is there any way to tell the place holder to look in another folder?

    I expect that its obvious but I just cant get it to work.

    I'd really appreciate any help with this.

    Thanks,

    njc64

    Hi njc64,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

    How familiar are you with editing the XML file created by Panorama Studio?

    The pdf file that comes with the Panorama viewer explains some of the parameters.

    For your placeholder to work with the Panorama Studio files in a different folder you will need to include the path to the XML file. In your example "New panorama2.xml" should be changed to include the full path.

    Also the XML file itself will need to be edited so the <file> parameter includes the full path to the jpg image.

    Yes you can.
    Place following code in placeholder:
    Code:
    <applet archive="folder/panoStudioViewer.jar"
    code="panoStudioViewer.PanoStudioViewer.class"
    name="New panorama 2" height="480" width="800">
    <param name="pano" value="folder/New panorama 2.xml"> </applet>
    Replace folder with the folder that contains panorama.

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply's but I still cant get it to work.

    I've attached a zip file with the web designer file and panorama studio files.

    the html file in panorama01 works as this is the output from panorama studio.

    If anyone fancies having a go at this id be interested in your results.

    Many thanks,

    I can't make your's work with a placeholder no matter what I try.
    Personally I have used the original Panorama Studio by tshsoft (not the version licensed to Magix) which doesn't create any .xml.
    I succeeded in adding it to a placeholder ( online example image may take a few moment to show, it's almost 2mb)

    I noticed that yours has a 'not registered' watermark across the image?
    Not something you'd really want to show online

    Welcome njc, why not use the resultant panorama jpg to create a swf in Xtreme (if you've got it of course). Do you need all the up down stop start zoom features? Then attach this via a placeholder?

    Egg could you show how Xtreme flash can do non-stop 360 degree flash Panorana or work with files which longer than Xtreme's limits?

    My test file was 400pixels high by 4809 wide.

    Hi Steve, yes there are limitations and obviously the higher you want your panorama the longer it will be. The answer is to use more than one photo. Use 2 or 3 with intermediate frames that overlap the proceeding photo.

    A lot of this depends on the original photographs from the outset. You need to know your going to use it for a panorama, so you must firstly ensure that each photo is taken from the same position. It's surprising how a few inches offset of the camera in any direction has on the results. I'd recommend a tripod but I'm no photographer.

    Allow at least 25% overlap. Try to get the camera as vertical as possible. It's amazing how after a 385 degree swing the horizon drops between the first and last photo.

    The really big issue with a 360 panorama is the colour shift (exposure) between photos. Even at close on midday the sky colour between a south and north facing photos will have variations in sky colour etc. This is were XX stitching works wonders. Doing it by hand needs a great deal of horizontal transparencies to avoid the varying exposures between photos.

    Like most members I've never used the full Magix prog that came with XXP and have wiped it from my system. Perhaps I'll give it a fair outing one of these days.

    But that's not answering your question. Here's an animation of how you can do it with 3 photos thus avoiding the width limit.

    Here's another I did but they're not my photos and some overlap was missing and the horizon wasn't straight hence the odd jump. It's created with 2 images using 5 photos each in XXP panorama tool. Not really any use but a good example of a 360 panorama.
