Having exported a site, I later tried to open it and Webdesign reported a problem loading the images and this is the result. Oddly it displays normally in Dreaweaver. Anyone any ideas - thanks

You are supposed to save your website in Web Designer's native format (a .web file) as well as exporting it as HTML. Then you reload the .web file rather than loading the exported HTML.

Many thanks, I hadn't realised
So it would seem that you cannot import an existing web page (HTML code) into XWD in order to improve its design?

Hi Oldwoodie,
Welcome to Talkgraphics.
You are correct Xara Web Designer cannot read html/css etc to create a native file for editing.
When you create a website within Web Designer you need to Save to the native .web file format so that future edits can be made to the design.
To use the design on your web host you must Export to Website (html) for the html, css, javascript, and graphic files to be created.
EDIT: I see sledger answered while I was typing my reply

I think it's just a case of copying the site by sight. For example:
1st Pic - Done in WebStyle, 2nd Pic - Copied in WD
