How to Jumble Letters - My first question =)

Hello everyone, I am new to the boards, I have been floating in anonymity for a bit picking up information but decided to register today because I have a specific question I have not found an answer to. It may be that the answer is what I assume it is , NO

SO ANYWAY. What I want to do is accomplish laying out 3D letters in a jumbled format.

Now I know I can do this by making a letter then exporting and importing into photoshop one at a time which is what I have been doing but I am wondering with xara can you have it all laid out in xara first, either with layers or something?

Or do all typed letters follow the same pitch and yaw? Can they be made independant to get the jumbled effect?

Hi and welcome to the forum.
If you do not intend to animate the letters, use Xara Xtreme. Just type the word, go to the Arrange menu and convert to editable shapes. Now ungroup the word twice, and select each letter individually with the 3D tool and fiddle until you acheive the desired effect. It's a quick job.

THANKS! do you know if this feature is available in Xtreme 2 which they have on sale right now? Not sure this would be a feature I could look up really.

3D extrusion (3D tool) was introduced with Xtreme version 4.
Prior to this, only Xara 3D was available for this style of effect.

You could download a 30 Day trial of the full version of Xara Xtreme 4 from here. Just click the "Try It" button. A warning though, you'll probably get hooked and there's no known cure.

Using X3D:
The first image was made using [ripple].
The still image was made using [rotate1].
Each letter was given a different [axis] setting.

I have work the tutorial without Photoshop, only Xara Xtreme Grafik Designer 2 or Xara Xtreme Pro 4 (both have the 3D-Tool inside, otherwise you must use Xara3D and import in XARA).

Thank you everyone for the help =) I think I am going to end up getting Xtreme 4 for this. Importing to PS can be a real pain when you are trying to get a very specific layout done and not just a random jumble =)
