everytime i try to shrink our club logo it goes from a high quality smooth edged image to a jagged edged slightly blurry one.
I am using the crosshair to decrease its size, is this correct or is there a better way.?

Hi
first check to see what view setting you are on - choose the highest setting
[xtreme menu: window > quality]

Hi Neil,
Aside from checking that your quality setting is as Steve mentions, the Logo - is still all vector, no LE's or other plugin effects applied?
It sounds as if the club logo is a bitmap and not a vector object.
Is your zoom setting at 100%? Sometimes when you view a bitmap at a different zoom setting, say 107% the bitmap does not look right.
Can you attach the logo so we can have a look?

i have the logo in the following formats, tiff, gif, wmf, btmp, jpeg, and .ai, the only one i cannot open is the .ai file and im led to believe this is a true vector image?
steve sorry i dont know what you mean by LE and im not aware of any plug in effects but then again i dont know how to check either
i was hoping to attempt to put a glossy effect on our logo and save it in flash for something im working on for the club website., i have attached one of our logos and also one whose style i like to emulate.
any suggestions welcome guys... (be careful now...)
as steve can vouch you need to class me as a complete beginner, even more than you could imagine.
regards
Neil

ooh sorry, whys that done that?
i thought it would be like the .swf attachment?
Neil
This logo is problematic because of the red element. JPEG would be preferable because of the gradient fill but reds bleed like crazy when you export as JPEG.
If you post the AI file, one of us can open it for you and save it out to a PDF or XAR file.

Hi,
Here's the dragon and globe in a xar file
find the right font and your set to go.
Hans
thanks to all, sorry about the huge image i loaded. i honestly thought it would save as an attachment rather than an image on show.
@haakoo
thank you for that, please would you mind explaining how you did this (im not asking for a tut, just a few lines to help me understand things) thanks.
im still searching for this font for windows, i have the font file for mac that the graphics guy supplied when he did the logo, however as i dont have a mac, creek and paddle spring to mind!
if anyone has the font file "SHANGO REGULAR" for windows would you like to exchange it for the mac version?
regards
Neil
