Hi.
I'm sure you can all do better, but just to get the ball roling, here's my effort.
Now, it's your turn!

Well, OK, hey newbe!
Is that your real name or did you just make it up? And are those some kind of Artworks and Acorn Draw logos I see before me?

Yeah! Jim Duggan is the name. I only registered a few days ago because of the Gel topic, but I've been dabbling for some time.
I came to know of Xara through Artworks on my old A5000 And I looove these icons, even though they are quite controversial in RISC OS land...
Fancy meeting a fellow Duggan in a place like this!

Well, where better? And nice to meet you, Jim!
The rest of the forum's probably quaking in their boots at the thought of another Duggan being let loose around here! And yes, I'm a reformed Acorn user too, but I jumped ship along with Sibelius (the fastest, smartest, easiest scorewriter in the world™).

Jim Duggan - The rest of the forum users aren't likely "quaking" as Peter suggests. If you are also into sailing like Peter then we might be in trouble!
I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we look forward to your continuing participation. The regulars are an interesting bunch of people with varied backgrounds. We have people of all skill levels here - and everyone learns something from their participation. Gels might have brought you here but I hope you'll stick with us and help us discover the potential of Xara.
Your splash screen is interesting. The subject of Xara's splash screen has come up before. Whilst the old man image is almost universally praised for its quality, many have commented that it is more suggestive of a paint program than a vector illustration tool. Some have suggested it should be changed to better reflect what mere mortals can expect to achieve with the program. What led you to design your version?

Sorry, that was meant to be funny. Not sure from Ross's reply whether or not it'll be taken that way! (First paragraph references to sailing and trouble seem to acknowledge the joke, but start of second paragraph worries me...)
Of course we all look forward to Jim's continuing participation - hope no-one seriously thought I was implying otherwise?

Peter - have no worries! I appreciated your humor and was just trying to have my own. I'm sure Jim knew you were welcoming him too!
It is likely that two Duggans will be even better than having just one!

There are Duggans around my neck of the woods too.
Are Duggans everywhere and do they all use Xara?

My mother-in-law was originally a Duggan, but I'm open spirited enough not to hold that against the rest of the Duggan clan.
As a MacDonald I know all about clans ( no burger jokes , please)
