    Default Moss from Moisture

I made an edge blended tile in XXP, and made an inverted image.

The inverted image was used as a bitmap transparency removing the black from the image.

This left the white streaks. I ran the streak image through Super Blade Pro and Eye Candy 4000 to recolor and texturize the streak images.

A water drop tile I made from drops on a spider web.

The leaf was PNG/alpha. I made a copy and recolored light to black. Then made a bitmap copy to place a copy in the bitmap gallery. Then drew an object to dimensions of the leaf, and filled it with the drop tile. With the object selected, the black leaf in the Bitmap gallery was selected, and I hit transparent. This made the filled object transparent except for the area over the leaf.

    All in all good experimentation.

However, the water droplets on the leaf aren't consistent with droplets IRL. Droplets are round in shape and don't have the crater appearance that yours have. Also on the edge of the leaf, the water would also have a rounded edge and not simply be cut off as the alpha has done.

I tried drawing drops, but never got anything to work. The drops from the image were the color left from the drops when I removed the black background. I sliced a few of these and made a tile. I can erase the partial drops with SM from XXP. I might prefer erase blending from E3, or use Photoshop. I have PS as my XXP editor, but it would be beter to erase with the leaf in view.

    Larry,

Akvis Smart Mask is an application for separating an image from the background. The image in a Smart Mask window in complex mode. I set the background to black to better
see what I was erasing. In that mode, it is possible to just erase.

In E3, erase blending is layer dependent, and is a non destructive method. So, if the leaf was on a separate layer, I could erase the drops while viewing the leaf behind.

Looking better rich. How about macking the droplets a bit transparent, so the drops are tinted the leaf color? To lazy to play with it myself this evening.
