    Default Exercise in using fills

Whilst going through various old archived discs I found a .xar file. Amongst the images (most too horrible to post) was this one. It was one of those 'test' drawings, never finished, that I do to see 'if I can'. This was me trying to create fills that I could actually use in drawings. Most of my disasters are 'hair' related, hence my reluctance to post anything in that vein. Any tips or additional tutorial links (I've scanned Xara) would be appreciated.

Sometimes you can modify a fractal plasma fill to emulate different textures. A Profile 4 preset creates the most contrast between the two colors.

Gary has good tut on hair fur his teddy bear a few years back. Do a search for Ramwolff (richard) he is a professioanl hair dude, and posted some good ideas on doing realistic hair. It helped me.

That fill looks pretty good Hugh. I think the only fill I have ever used was the fractal plasma. With the two axes and the colour changes you can get some useful textures.
