Fractal Plasma Fill Tool Scale

I've been away for a while glued to creating in Xara and totally love the upgrades this year. I apologize if this has been asked this year, but I remember being able to scale non uniformly using the fill tool with the fractal plasma effect. For instance, I could squash or stretch a plasma effect to create a bit of noise in a long gated effect. Currently I'm only able to scale the effect uniformly. Well, any help would be much appreciated. Should I get the new upgrade patch?
