Hi,
I got the task to design a "quick and dirty" newsletter that should be sent by e-mail, and I wonder if it is possible to design it in Xara Xtreme?
Anyone having any thoughts or suggestions?

Absolutely!!
All my (e)mail outs are designed in Xtreme.
Often I'll even export as html then uploaded them as a backup to the newsletter (for anyone without a PDF reader installed)
I believe that the newsletter that "Angelize" produces is done in Xara.

There are 10 types of people in this world .... Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
I missed this thread when it first appeared I found it just now by accident. Did you use Xara for your newsletter Paul?
I Have found that Xara is wonderful for creating newsletters, everything from designing the ads to illustrating the stories to manipulating photos and cleaning up bitmap files that clients provide can be done in the same place!
I also have custom folders added to the clipart gallery for ad files and ready to use frames & borders. I distribute Good Morning, Sunshine! in 3 ways, printed copies are distributed locally through stores, coffee shops etc., some copies are sent by e-mail, and lastly its is available for download from the website.
I use the default pdf settings for e-mail and web distribution and have had no problem. I send a copy to the printers using commercial printing settings.

Hello,
if you want newlsetters i will always go for supermailer:
http://int.supermailer.de/
Why: Personalized newsletters with every single option you wish for creating and sending newsletters - one of the best newsletter-tools i know.
Look: Xara is a graphic tool and one of the best i know - it is not a newsletter tool, even if we can create one with it!
Why people using Xara? Because it offers professional results in a short time and gives me so much tools on the hand...
Shure you can create graphics with Microsoft Paint, but do you have the same options like Xara offers you?
Shurely you can create newsletters with Xara, but if you look and the program mentioned above you have not the same options you need to create perfect newsletters, not only from a designers point of view...
Michael
Depends what you call a newsletter.
Personally I find Xtreme ideal for all sorts of jobs and...well, I already bought it.
A spell checker would be good (for those who really need it
