how about the one you are having difficulty with - the west ham one, where it is not giving a black shape....... strikes me if you got the arsenal one right you should get the west ham one right too....

Only problem is the exact cutting looks dodgy
When you are drawing the outline, it helps if you hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard when doing the horizontal and vertical lines. This will constrain your lines accordingly.

Finished items can be exported as animated gif's using File > Export animation

Unless you are used to using the pen tool in Illustrator or Photoshop, then yes, I think the shape editor tool is the way to go.
