I've spent about 3 days on this character. He is the first of a group of 8 which will be pictured together.
As I'm still learning, I'm open to suggestions, especially skin or scale
textures, as I feel that these areas are a bit flat in my graphic.

I like your character! He's very intimidating. There are some techniques that you can employ to acheive depth to your drawings. There are others on this forum that can demonstrate this better than I, but here is a drawing I threw together that will help you see some of what you can do. You can toy with it to your hearts desire, and probably even improve on it. Hope this helps.

and thank you Ron. Your picture has given me good ideas for the rest of my characters. Using the Fill Gallery has given me loads of textures to choose from. I've updated this picture already, it looks better with fills on it!
