Opportunity...?

I have used Xara 3D in the past for web stuff or stills for video, but I always ended up having to use Ulead Cool 3D for video projects.

Now that Corel has finally admitted in their newsgroups they will not be continuing development of C3D, it seems there is an opening for a simple 3D application.

Any chance Xara might step in with Xara and add better support for video?

• The ability to export overlays (32-bit AVI or MOV files with alpha support)
• Camera movements
• Import 3D objects (DirectX and 3DS)
• etc...

I wasted a ton of money on 3D Studio and found it just too difficult to use. Same problem with Blender. Because they are extremely sophisticated, they are also very complicated. I "love" the simplicity of C3D (and so far, Xara).

Just thought I'd toss this out there...

It's too niche a market. If you're serious about that subject you'll be willing to invest time and money in the more expensive tools it requires.

Xara has enough on it's plate right now with Xtreme..
