caricatural picture from photo for avatar

I want to make a caricatural picture from myself in the size needed for an avatar but following my own photography (frontal or side photo), easy, fast, and amusing, and I am looking for a tutor for that frequent needed purpose.

The easiest way I have found to do that is to inport your bitmap to one layer. make the layer uneditiable, then create and draw your caracture on a layer over the bitmap... Once complete, hide the bitmap and resize the doodle to fit the size for your avatar.

I would do it the same way that John has suggested.

exaggerate and distort

look at the live effect -deformation filter - liquid color

ok this gives a bitmap result not a vector, but you can use it to great effect on a photo, without necessarily using much else
