Type some text, then select it all with the text tool or CTRL+A. Click the Selector tool, and press Delete. The text is deleted, but some kind of residue is left behind.
X1 doesn't do this, but XPro4 does.
Anyone able to confirm?

does it disappear with a forced screen redraw ctrl+shift+T
I get a bit of that - graphics card issue I think

No, it's actually an invisible object with no dimensions on the page. If you deselect it, you can select it again
Also, H & W are set to zero and you can't change this. It pops up an error.
I get no residue when I follow your steps. However, when I press ctrl-Z after having deleted the text, all text reappears, "underlined" with little dots. These dots are still there after a forced screen redraw, and at different zoom levels, and at all quality settings. As soon as I deselect, the dots are gone.
I have regularly had residual leftovers (mostly from selection handles) on the screen in older versions as well, (X1, 3.0, 3.2). Usually, scrolling the leftovers off the screen got rid of them. Not this time with the dots, however.
yes I am with it
I typed in here is some text in default arial 10pt
selected it with ctrl+A switched to selector tool and pressed delete
what I was left with was as screen shot
it will nudge but not drag resize with mouse
zoom does not affect it
it appears to delete ok
also if save xar with it in and reopen it is gone?

Those dotted lines are normal
They always show up when adjacent characters in a text are selected with the text tool and the text as a whole is selected (Selector tool) afterwards.
Try this in your example:
- deselect everything
- using the text tool, select one line (or a few lines) of the text
- Click the selector tool again and the dotted lines should appear.
For the record, here's my system specs:
- Intel Centrino 1.3 GHz
- 1 Gb RAM
- Intel integrated graphics card (852/855 GM/GME)
- Running WinXP Pro SP2
They may be normal, but in what way are they supposed to be useful? (Wat heb ik er aan?)
oops - typo in the above - it will drag move - just not drag resize

I can. You can actually drag it with the mouse, if you drag the selection handles. Although it doesn't always go where you'd expect it.
XXP4 on XP Pro here.
