Although i get the principle of the workaround,i don't get the point why.
Anas could you elaborate on why you want this to work?
Hans
Line stroke shapes can look ugly if placed in the wrong place.
I was drawing a cartoon style image. The start node indicates that the 'pen' started at a particular point. This point may be practically unrealistic.
For example, if you draw a box or any more complex shape, you are naturally going to start at a corner rather than in the middle of a line. Also the start/ end point may be covered by another shape and for the sake of wanting to show the stroke start/ end point you may want to move it until it becomes visible so that it looks sketched, rather than computer generated.

Good point. That answers my question as well.
Here's another tip. If you break points on a closed shape, then work on another shape, then select the broken shape, and switch to the Shape Editor Tool, the end points will not show.
But if you note the location of the small black square that is present when the shape has been selected with the Selector Tool, that will be where the start and end points are.
Another tip, you can select a control point with the Shape Editor Tool, and press the Tab key to go from point to point.

Ah,
Thanks for the explanation Anas
Might come in handy sometime

Thanks, Gary. I had tried what Odat said and for the life of me I couldn't get those node points to appear after selecting the shape editor tool. Your tip about the tab worked perfectly.

It's not necessary to drag the repositioned end point to reclose the shape, just press 'enter' on your keyboard.
that will close a shape drawn by the shape editor tool
does not always work when other methods are used

I found 'ENTER' did not work. I just moved cursor very slightly towards the other point and released when + appeared
