I love wiregraphics, especially the kind of you can see in the attachment. I was wondering if it's possible to create something like the banner above and especially the wired man.
hope somebody can give some good advice.

The 'wired man' is possible but a *lot* of work(effectively hand-drawing the lines). Usually that's achieved using a 3D package, not an illustration tool like Xtreme. Everything else is easily achievable using Xtreme.

Hi Wicky,
Welcome to Talkgraphics.
Paul is correct that it would take a lot of drawing to make the wireframe of the hand.
Fortunately there is a free program that can help. Daz3D can be used to get a wireframe view.
My attachment was created in Xara Xtreme using a screen grab of the Daz3D interface in wireframe view. I used a rectangle to intersect the hand and portion of the forearm. Change the Contone dark to a black and then apply a flat 0% Stained Glass transparency.
The background and text were all done in Xtreme.

Bill, thanks very much! This is exactly where I was looking for.
I've tried it also with photoshop but without any succes. Your little program is fantastic!
Wicky I'm glad to have helped.
Xara Xtreme is a fantastic program that can do things other applications cannot easily recreate.
I'm not a professional graphic artist but Xara Xtreme allows me to accomplish professional looking results.

There is another possibility. Use a 3D program. There is SketchUp Free. You can view any model in wireframe mode and then export to PDF or PNG.
The density of the wireframe depends upon how the 3D object was modeled initially. With SketchUp there is a toolbar which opens to Google's 3D warehouse where you can search and download models which users the world over have contributed.
Attached are screen shots of the SketchUp (SU) model.

This shows what you get in Xara when you import the PDF vector whoch was exported from SU.
If you want you can use the attached Xara file for a "paint-by-numbers" exercise ... just recolor each triangle.

Good solutions John and Bill.
And yes, most 3D programs are a LOT of work.
