the reason for this is, that most users these days uses simple PDF printer drivers to create PDF files and the result is often not the best. But you should talk with them and explain them, that you use a professional PDF export filter and not a PDF printer driver and that they're are able to import your PDF file with Adobe Illustrator CS without problems.

    Nostaw-
What version are you using? Xara Xtreme has a number of EPS and AI export options.

Thanks remi, i'll talk to them and see if they would accept a PDF.

DGehman, I have Xtreme Pro 3.2.1. All the EPS i've found in the export options are just ArtWorks EPS, Illustrator EPS (which I tried, but doesn't convert my colors to CMYK, as the artwork was created in RGB, further, this .AI or .EPS can only be read by Illustrator and Photoshop) and XaraX eps.

Default HELP!!! CMYK / RGB Color trouble

I have been back and forth with my printer - with no luck yet. Submitted a ticket to Xara tech - no response in over 24 hrs...

I NEED SOME HELP - please This is the latest comment I received from my printer setup rep:

We got your new file and in preflighting it, it shows both CMYK and RGB
images now. Because your file has numerous layers, it is hard to preflight
in the normal manner and it makes it difficult for us to isolate the
    specific area that is RGB.

I ripped the file, and in viewing it in our Trap checking software, I can
see that the black type remains 4 color black.
Also, I am unable to view the separations for your file. Normally I can view
each channel, C,M,Y,K (black) separately with this program, but just get an
error beep when I try on your file. I must admit, I am stumped by this as I
    have never enountered it before.

So, I would like to try the following if you can:
Convert the fonts to outlines in your layout program. Usually if this is
possible, it will be available through your menu relating to Type. If you
can, do this and then export the file as a pdf again. But keep each page as
    a separate file.

I tried opening your file is Illustrator and it opened fine but the fonts
were all garbled, so if you can convert those to outlines they will still
remain as vectors and be sharp and clear, but I won't have the font issue
when opening in Illustrator. If I can get the file open in Illustrator, I
should be able to change the colors there. It is the next way to try.

So, let me know if you can convert the fonts and resend two pdfs.
    Thanks, Diane

I am exporting th PDF/DFx with following settings:
    CUSTOM
    >>>Advanced Options
GEN TAB Adobe Reader 7 (PDF1.6)
    Color Model CMYK
Options - all 5 checked - Optimized for web, embed fonts, view pdf after, enable cont. scroll, Font subset only
    Page Gen - Current page
    OBjects TAB
    Bitmap Compression JPEG 100%
Raster 300 w limit bitmap res to raster res checked
Options - Incl hyperlinks checked, Use Unicode checked, Preserve bitmap tiling
    DOC TAB - nothing checked
    LAYERS TAB
Gen options - exclude invisible layers - checked
Layering method - enable Reader leyers in a single page checked
PRE PRESS TAB - US Web coated SWOP

I have a rapidly approaching deadline - and this is a HUGE account...

    Any help is greatly appreciated..

    Just my 5 cents:
Open the Xara document. Convert ALL text into shapes for page 1 and 2(CTRL+A then CTRL+SHIFT+S).

    Then Export the File.
    > Xara > File
    > Export (PDF)
    > Select Preset "Commercial Printing (PDF/X)"
    > click on button "Advanced Options"
leave anything as it is and just click on Export.

    This should do the job.

Was having at look at your PDF front in Acro and I think the problem is on the "Mary Kay" facial bit where it gives the web address and above on the actual name when I tried to select image there it started up my browser. I have never known that to happen before in a print doc. Also the reason that I looked at that was because the separations were wrong for vector but it is a bit map even if you could not find the font I would have cropped the rest and just used text on the address line. I would replace all of that box with text and vector as it looks washed out.
    Design is thinking made visual.
