As Steve said, post #13 does it for me.
However, having said that, I think the background is really good too,
but somehow it diverts one's attention from the main attraction.
Saludos,
Bob.

Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. Groucho Marx.
Agreed post #13 is my preference too. The background is too distracting.

Thanks a lot for your comments Sledger, Iamtheblues and Keith!
I understand what you mean .. on post 13 there is nothing to attract the attention but the car .. only .. that's what I think makes the illustration look kind of cheap and unfinished. Personnally I like it when an illustration is full of details, eyecatchers but offcourse well thought through.. I know its a dangerous game though and it can make the whole picture look overloaded.
Anyway, I see this more as practice then anything else .. thanks again for the comments guys!
Blur the new background and that will bring the Cam right out with new life
Excellent work on the car
Indeed!!! Greate idea Geminiguy .. I added a 4.0 gausian blur .. I need to test for more but don't have time right now. But I think it looks even better now! Thanks!!!
no problem... try going with like a grade 10 blur. do it slow though, that gausian blur sure do like to eat up da ram
Well here is my very last version .. I think I'm going to stick with it
I added another 4.0 blurr on the background for a total of 8.0 now and played a little bit with the lighting effects
I aslo tweeked the brightness of the car and cleared the windows so that the background shows through them.
Thanks a lot geminiguy for your help!

No problem. It looks good. Now the background does not cut into the lines on the car.
The more blur to a background with a sharp &clean image to the front gives off a 3 demensional effect, and draws the eye to the focused item
Nice Job Thor. Your doing well only six months practice. It took me a year before
I could even do a fill that's because I never looked at the tutorials or used the help files, I tried to use it intuitively as I do with all program but Xara had me beaten and it took me all that time to figure out what vector v raster meant.

Thor,
Addicting isn't it; not for all but those of us that have a love of cars. Keep up the good work.
