Andreas your file is not an ai file. It is actually a pdf file with an ai file extension. Change the name of the file to icon_05.pdf and it should import correctly into Xara Xtreme Pro.

Bill, hehe - I tried that too, same problem. XXP imports it hollowed out.
Also, as the file does contain some raster object data, the cop'n'paste method seems to work the best at this time.
Just a note, that since CS, .ai files include PDF compatibility as seen in the header:
Code:%PDF-1.4 %âãÏÓ 1 0 obj <</Metadata 36 0 R/Pages 2 0 R/Type/Catalog>> endobj 36 0 obj <</Subtype/XML/Length 56667/Type/Metadata>>stream <?xpacket begin="" id="W5M0MpCehiHzreSzNTczkc9d"?>

Thanks Steve. I'm at work without Xara and could not test the import. Using Notepad and Adobe Reader to look at the file. In Notepad it does appear that the only vector data is for the outlines of the two shapes. The raster data may be bitmap fills for the two shapes.

Chaps its is the old problem when an object is saved as a PDF it rasterises any transparent areas so therefore when you try an import it to Xara you get both Clipview (Clipping Mask) and bitmap effects and when you try to release them you get the broken down shapes. The only answer is to use the shapes and replicate the sort of Glassy style in Xara.
Design is thinking made visual.
Thanks Peter, I should have remembered that
Back home from work and imported the file renamed to a pdf. All the shapes are there but with out the transparency.
Just a moment of applying some linear transparency to the existing shapes.
