Default Why can't we place the Color Line vertically?

I think it should be possible to place the color line vertically instead of on the screen bottom. Ideally it should behave like the other bars, that is, drag it to wherever you want. I think this option would be quite useful in these days of 1440 x 900 pixel monitors.

And I, just to be awkward, would like to be able to move it to the top.

I would prefer it to be a floating rectangle.

<sillystuff>Or on a 2nd monitor (along with all the other tool bars?)</sillystuff>

Seriously though, an undockable colour bar would be a feature I'd use a bit.

Yes, being stupid aside, Xara3D's gallery system has a lot to be said for it. As long as alternatives are given as well as the current layout I've no problem with it.

I don't have the colour line onscreen at all. I much prefer to use the custom colour editor when I need it. 90% of the colours I use are shades or tints of colours already onscreen and I have to play with the custom colour editor to get the initial colours I'm happy with in the first place.

I just wish there were two colour pickers, one for lines and one for fills or even the left and right click convention. That bloody dropdown list drives me up the wall after the thousandth time of having to swap from line to fill colour ARRGH!

Save yourself a headache and leave that drop down list alone and simply do this: (oops, just realized after posting this that perhaps that little color circle isn't there if the color bar isn't there. Oh well...)
