The video that come with xara are excellent, along with the step by step tuts in the xaraxone...
Looks pretty good. Just keep practicing (that's how you get better after all). Over time you will notice more and more detail in pictures and also start including that to add even more realism to your images.
Here's a pen I traced a couple of months ago (with xar file).

I definitely agree on more practice, will make me better!!!
But what I need is how to make it look more realistic or at least more like the one I'm trying to copy.
Thank You for your input.
Mike
Mike,
I already think yours is far better than the original. As I said before, if you want to progress it further you need to get a far greater defintion original bitmap. In my opinion the one you're trying to copy is very blurred / out of focus. But what I need is how to make it look more realistic or at least more like the one I'm trying to copy.
Know1's vector drawing is an ideal example of a sharp vector graphic. You could pick that pen up and draw with it.

there are lots and lots of tutes on the Xarazone.
for a first work, this is excellent. Bill made some really good changes (mostly in sharpening it); it is really easy to fall in love with Xara's excellent feathering tool and it gets away from you. but, you had a reason. Eric is right, the initial picture was poor quality, too blurred; you just copied it faithfully.
you will learn lots right here too. folks are gracious and helpful.

Thank you all for your input and direction. I like to find a better tutorial. If your implying I used the feather on it, I didn't. I haven't had time to re do-it!
But soon, I'm also going to try it in Coreldraw and Illustrator.
I do appreciate all you opinions, directions and examples.
Thank You ALL!
Mike

Nicely presented Ron. What font did you use if I may ask?
Norman. The Flying Scotsman
Thanks, Norman. I assume you mean the font on the letter rendering. The font was Chiaroscuro.
Know1,
Reeeaaaally like your pen drawing.
