Thanks mate I downloaded the program. I tryed to import my .png and/or .gif pictures in Xtrem and saved the files like a .xar file.

When I tried to import this file with xara3D 6 the program said me :
This file contain does not contain any outlines.

How it works so ??? PLZ
What the easiest way for best auto tracing mode ?

( my .png have a transparent background, I must do the transparant again with xtrem ??? )

P.S: sorry for my english cauz i'm french ^^'

you need to convert your png bitmap to a vector shape using xara xtreme.

the usual way to do this is to trace round it by hand using the shape editor tool as described at post #7 of this thread.

it is a skill that is well worth learning because it is the basis of so many vector functions in xara but takes some practice to master.

the alternative to hand tracing is to use xara's bitmap tracer tool.

before you can do that though - you will need to modify your png.

it needs to be a high saturation level black on a white background.

I have the method for complete bitmap tracing method somewhere - I will post it soon as I can find it

I saw on the program I can " import a vector pic " My logo is a pure .AI file.
So how I can export it as a .xar file PLZ Step by step if it's possible thanks...

Well scuse Its me again ^^' I can paste my logo from illustrator in Xtrem.
So it's vectorised on the page. How I export right now cauz it's don't work.

if your importing an ai file into xara xtreme it need to be in legacy .ai8 format to import
properly as far as I recall

if you have done this and it is in pure vector format you should then be able to paste it from xara xtreme directly into xara 3D.

if you are having problems you could post up the .xar file with the imported logo so we can take a look

and for the record here is the bitmap trace file

creating the logo in xara 3D is a two stage process - you import the shape, and then use the original bitmap to texture it.

you cannot import the completed logo in one go.

the attached file covers the first of the two operations starting from bitmap

1. Copy and paste version from illustrator : colour good

2. Second version " import ai8 ( invalid shape detected in the importation )

3. third version, I colored the vector section from the ai8 for keep the best color

dosn't seem to like the first true.

as for the second - despite the error message it should work - if you import it into xrar3d you should get something like the attached screen shot.

you then need to adjust the bevel extrusion and shadow settings and then import the texture - ie a bitmap of your logo. This may need size adjustment after importing.
