There were quite a few dragonflys to photograph. This was with a 100mm macro lens.

Very Nice pictures Rich...
But not like any of my dragons...
Nice shots but I take it when you say Loch Lomond you don't mean:
Oh, ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye;
But me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond.

LOL
I've been swimming in THE Loch Lomond - my father thought it would be fun (though he didn't swim) - coldest swim I can ever remember. Many, many years back though..
The area where I live was settled by people from around the world, and they brought a lot of their culture with them.
Loch Lomond is a local water supply in the Santa Cruz mountains.

Tsk... Tsk.... Took all the romance out of it Rich...
BTW... Another nice dragon fly....
Yes Rich the detail that you have manage to capture in the wings is incredible.

Thanks John and Albacore,
The camera was set in P mode with an EV of -.666. The meta data said F 5.6 and 250. It was quite breezy, and I was using autofocus to try and shoot before things moved too much. I thought this shot was well infocus for the depth of the dragonfly. No flash, just natural light.
Rich
The heck with romance Rich...
You still take really nice bug shots.
