Or did there use to be an option when putting text on a curve to have the text follow the curve or stand upright?
I cannot find it in Extreme or Extreme Pro.

Hi Christine,
When texttool selected, draw a "small" red line(smaller as the text you need)
Then type your words and it will show up standing down
When applied to followcurve, you can move along the line using the left handle
in texttoolmode

Hi Christine,
It is in the same place as always, in the "Arrange" menu right at the bottom.
Design is thinking made visual.
Sorry I did not explain myself very well - I know where the fit text to curve is I thought there used to be an option to have the text standing upright on the curve like in the second image.
Christine
Hi,
Try this option
When the txt to curve is applied, convert to editableshapes, cntrl+click rotate or skew
If there's another way, like to here about it

I suspect you are confusing this with the ability of a blend along a curve to be upright or follow the curvature.
You could use a mould to give that sort of effect (though the individual characters will be slightly distorted).

What hans said.
After converting to editable shapes, you can control each letter as its own object by ctrl click.
Also, a method I found out by accident:
One can also draw a flattened ellipse, break at two side center points, then after text to curves is done, drag the bottom center handle to make it more circular and the text will remain straight. See attached.
I call this my barrell distortion text method because the text looks like it's inside a barrell and the text is somewhat skewed and distorted.
If you will move the text by position the cursor at the first letter and moving it, you will see what I mean by barrell distortion.

Ooops, forgot to add example of moving the barrell text along the line. As you can see, when it moves it looks like it is inside a barrell.
Added another image. After converting the above to editable shapes, you have total control of the text as objects to rotate, skew, etc.

Gerry is right of course - I was confusing the blend on a curve with text on a curve. Would be nice feature though.
James that is exactly what I finished up doing - long process if you have much text.
Many thanks for all your replies.
