isn't there a new rule in place where someone has to be a member for a while before their PM is enabled? To deter spam or something if memory serves

Thanks Steve. I forgot about PMs not being enabled for new users. Only moderators can PM a new user until they have posted a number of posts.
I am having trouble finding the post that outlined the details about PMs for new users. Does anyone have the link?
Sorry Dmitry, I'm getting more forgetful all the time.

Posts about changes to rules seem very hard to find Bill - I'm relying on memory I'm afraid

If my memory is right you have to post 40 times before you can get and post personal messages
I think you have to see 2 red squares near your name

I love the image. Missed it the first time around, luckily it showed up in the e-mail. I am curious about the grass. Can you use the tapered line and draw a few blades of grass that way, group them, make a new brush and paint it on. When I tried this, it didn't save my tapered line I chose for the blade of grass. Instead the line is simply blocked off square on each end. It looks like grass that has been chopped off flat. I guess you have to actually draw the grass blades instead of using a tapered line. Any hints are appreciated.

Fantastic illustration, saw the feature in xara.com news. BTW, having trouble with grass too.

Okay, I got it. Draw your simple strokes of grass with the taper brush (if you want it to be this simple). Group the lines. Convert to line shape and then create your brush. Add some randomness and you get some nice cartoon grass. I am not sure if this was how it was done for this illustration(I'm sure it wasn't), but it gets some decent cartoon grass. I can better illustrate if you want. Hope this helps somebody.
