    I scanned a pic of myself and it looked fabulous. However, once I uploaded the pic to the web, it looked horrible. Why is this happening? Below is the addy to the pic I am referring to. How can I clear this up? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Al ...

    Your image wouldn't change from being uploaded to the web - it will, of course, change from your scanned image (200dpi? 300dpi) to any saved format for the web (72dpi).

    It's a fine balance getting something that looks good but is a reasonable size for download.

    I looked at the image in question, and other than your face being a bit washed out, the quality was pretty good.

    Your image is fine. The reason it looks like crap to you is almost certainly because you're looking at AOL and you haven't turned off AOL's "make images look like crap" feature.

    Turn that off, and not only your picture but the rest of the web will miraculously look better.

    hey al...i noticed you are using aol to host your website...

    if you want a nice shorty URL that people can remember, without ADs then check out sonicspread.com
