Default Exporting to AI as vector with line weight?

I am trying to export a graphic which is made of bold lines. When I export the file to AI to cuts with my vinyl cutter it only cut the lines as lines, not as bold lines. How do i correct this?

    Thanx

If you are trying to output the lines as a shape, you best convert the line to a shape or outlines so the cutter can understand what you want. You will want to weld all the pieced together so that you have one shape with assorted holes.

Many types of work look for vector work like that. You can't use things like clipping masks. You have to supply shapes.

Thanks, the advice is completely correct.

There are times when it is hard to get all the shapes to behave. Sometimes you may find reversing a curve will help. By that I mean that you can as with type, convert to curves, break shapes, combine shapes. There are times when combine shapes for no obvious reason will work. So you just have to find a work around to make it work.

But it is satisfying once finally done, seems at this DRAW seems to be only responding to a whole set of negative "choice words". Why, I haven't a clue.

But it does output correctly to the vinyl cutter.
