Adobe Error

HI All,
I have another thread in which I asked about a magazine ad I am working on. This problem relates to that same ad but it is a different problem so thought better to include in another thread.
Here goes. I am working on a layered image and when I sent the first draft to my friend it saved as a jpeg, without any problems although a little (lot!) slow. The issue I have now is that having modified the work and added a few more layers and saving as another psd file when I try to save as a jpeg it seems to be OK, that is until I try to open the jpeg. At this point I get the error:

"unknown or invalid JPEG marker type".

Can anyone offer any advice on this please.

Andy I'm confused by your post. Are you exporting the file as a .psd or as a .jpg? You cannot do both at the same time, it must be one or the other.
