Problem opening TIFF images in Illustrator

hi everyone,

I'm using Illustrator CS2 and when I try to open a TIFF image from Photoshop CS2 it comes out and saves at only a fraction of the original size. It is saved at 300dpi, I thought maybe this would have something to do with it? I have used LZW compression on it too. Bit depth is 32.

In AI CS tiff format files can't be placed in most cases and when they can they come through at 70dpi instead of 300 in your case and that is the reason. Normal way to import high quality bitmaps is to do it through PS or save it as a PDF, they both work easily and to the right size.

Thanks for the speedy reply! Why would they make AI like that, why?! I'll have to work with some other formats then, thanks for your time!
