Welcome to the incredible wonderful world of 3D !!! Addictive as anything, I even dream in my 3D program.. for years. I am obsessed with trying to learn
3D. Softimage, Maya, 3D studio Max, Lightwave, Truespace, and there are at least 100 others!!! but this is a world that once you enter and get hooked.

YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN.

Truespace is a good program to learn on. In time you will be accustomed to the language and icons.. 350 buttons eh ?? ha ha ha ha!! well that is a mere minute FRACTION of the buttons in 3D studio max.

It does not matter which 3D program you choose to learn. They all have the tools and power to create photo-realistic renderings!!
