memory error

Hi
using a new mac pro g5

I've been scanning neg all morning using cs2 had no problems until now. the mess that i get is "scanner could not allocate required memory qiut other applications and try again" does photoshop store information everytime i scan if so how do i clear this information..

I have rebooted but still getting the same promlem

You may have too much memory allocated to Photoshop it is a common mistake to give Photoshop too high a percentage leaving very little left for the other programs.
I have two gigs of ram and Photoshop is set at 59% this works well for me.
