Hi everyone,
wow what a response to my microphone head problem! Thanks to everyone for all your replies, by all the images you posted it looks pretty clear that Xara is more than capable of producing the mic.head effect, and the tweaked version from Soquili I think is better than PhotoShop. Thanks alot everyone, if you want to learn fast, this is the place to ask.

Wow, Eric, wonder attention to detail, looks real.
Every day's a new day, "draw" on what you've learned.

Using the photoshop tutorial here, I made an attempt making a mic microphone It was a good challenge. Of course it's not exactly the same, but then again, I spent only 25 minutes on it.

You can use the attached xar / JPG files for any purpose.
Michael,
I'm posting my method in response to your email. I produced this kind of quickly, so if anything is unclear, let me know. As your request was just for the mesh, I didn't include any of the other aspects of the mic drawing I did earlier. I had to throw this together just now as I didn't save the original file.
Hope this helps.
regards,
ron
I noticed in the Xtreme Fill Gallery...under 'Two colour patterns', a fill named checker4, which looks very much like the wire mesh they use for mic heads.
I wouldn't have a clue how to make good use of it myself but I'd love to know how it could be used for the mic head
