I would keep everyone guessing to make them try and see if the can make head and hair the same way. That's what I am now going to try and thanks again for giving me a challenge and it again underlines how much I stll don't know. 5*
Design is thinking made visual.
Thanks for your good words. I started this picture just after I`ve done previous picture I used ellipses. I have spent 2 or maybe more hours a day during a week to draw it. I had no clear plan how to do it and found decision wile be drawing.
I bring from the past the idea that then less shapes then better. So I try to use maximum tools in every object. So in hair I used Fractal clouds fill , Fractal clouds transparency and size of feather region.
Risto, you was absolutely right, when was not sure about my dancing talents.
I still can`t to draw nombers using ellipses ))))))
After sweating the problem for several hours I had one of those flashes of insight and saw how it is done.
Here is my first attempt - clearly no where near Russ's skill but it demonstartes that I am on the right path.
It's brilliant in its simplicity!!! The knack is to match the adjacent blend angle and fill. I could never have hit on this technigue on my own.

Amazing, Val!

It seems to me that more interesting is using fill tool in this part.

Every once in a while someone will show you a new technique using a tool that you thought you knew inside out. This image is not only amazing in it's own right as a drawing but even more so in the method you've used in creating it. Thank you for sharing it with us.
