How can I make the plastic look or metallic look of the word Xtreme? Are there any tutorials? I really want to make that plastic or metal look.

Did you say plastic?
(Oh oh, I hope Charles will not be cross with me...)

Open the file at c:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Xtreme\WebFiles\ENG\Upgrade.web
There's a bitmap copy of the logo on top, but if you delete that, the Xtreme logo is there to play with underneath.
Xara3D6 makes some fine plastic looking stuff and you can cut and paste back and forth from Xtreme to 3D6.
just my 2 cents worth
I appreciate everone's input. I will work with the sample as described..
Is there a plugin to achieve the plastic / metallic / shiny look that I am not seeing?
I am accustomed to Illustrator and I feel that Xtreme may have the advantage right now.
I have a blank folder where I was told to go: c:\Program Files\Xara\Xara Xtreme\WebFiles\ENG\Upgrade.web
Suggestions?
Use the Xara Xtreme logo from the Xara microscope in the Clipart Gallery (section "Example Xara X drawings 1", image "Microscope").
btw: There is something under the Microscope lens, which is only visible, if you zoom into the picture (up to 25.000% - the largest zoom factor of current vector graphics editors).

Here comes a step for step tutorial to create this plastic look:
- Choose the Text tool (F8) and type your logo text.
- Choose the Fill tool (F5), hold down your left mouse button and drag with your mouse from the top of your text to the bottom to create a linear fill.
- The linear fill has two small rectangles at the start and the end of the arrow. Click on the start rectangle, open the color editor (CTRL+E) and change the start color to a light blue. Click on the end rectangle, open the color editor (CTRL+E) and change the end color to a darker blue.
- Choose the bevel tool (CTRL+F3). Choose the bevel type "Flat", bevel size 0,8pix, bevel contrast of 100%, Light Angle 290°, Light Elevation 32°
These are the steps, to create this plastic look, as you can study in my XAR-File above. There is no plugin necessary.

Remi

I went in and just realized that Xtreme does not use PS fonts.. I use the font Revue for my logo.. You can see it here.. www.jenerationz.com
The issue I now see is getting this font to work in this program.. This is a little disappointing and discouraging but I may have to import. Suggestions?.
