    Yes

carry out the following, bear in mind it disables all installed extensions so you have to re enable them in extension manager

    1. Following the installation of Dreamweaver 8, close Dreamweaver and
re-install the Xara Dreamweaver extension from
    http://xara.com/downloads/addins.asp after removing the current
installation from add/remove programs. This is required to ensure the
extension has integrated with version 8 of Dreamweaver and not with a
previous version you might have installed.

    2. Next download DW8 files.zip
    (http://downloads.xara.com/support/DW8_files.zip)and extract the files
to the following locations overwriting the current files. (Change the
    install location as required)

    WS4DwExCore.js to
    C:Program FilesMacromediaDreamweaver8ConfigurationSharedWsDw ExShared

    WS3DwExCore.js to
    C:Program FilesMacromediaDreamweaver8ConfigurationSharedWsDw ExShared

    XMMDwExCore.js to
    C:Program FilesMacromediaDreamweaver 8ConfigurationSharedXmmDwExShared

    3. Restart Dreamweaver and this should resolve the problem. Please let
us know if any additional problems are encountered.

    cheers

    No Not at all.

literally follow the instructions. go to add remove programs and remove the Xara dreamweaver addin.

Download the two zip files and unzip them. re install the xara dreamweaver addin.

Unzip the four separate files and copy them the the dreamweaver directory.

    AThat will fix your problem.

Are you running any other extensions ie asp upload, etc? If you are let me know and I'll talk you through turning them on in extension manager.

    Any problems let me know

    cheers

Hate to bother you , but, I folowed the path to place the thre js files and when I got to the shared folder there is not a folder called \ WsDw , and ExShared .

Interisting though. I have two windows systems and the folder is there on the other computer .

Should I copy it and paste it on the computer where its missing ? ( I just dont know what to do )

The fix worked on the other system, however, I dont use the other computer on line it is my video editing system.

    Thanks

    Red face Re: error

Hi the configuration folders are a part of the Macromedia installation not xara.

Does your Dreamweaver work OK if it does you are looking in the wrong place if it doesn't you need to re install the macromedia suite Put your disk into the drive and select the option "repair"

You should have the same directoru structure on both PC's I suspect that copying the files wont work as they wont be registered in the registry.

Let me know how you get on

    cheers

Thanks , I tried the copy and paste thing and the extensions showed up in the insert menu.

But now I have another problem After I go through the painstaking task of linking everything up in webstyle the links dont work when I open the site in DW!

Any Idea whats going on ?

I had to re order my disk for the sweet, when they come Im going to re install anyway.

    What do you think?

That's normally a path error. If you can't find it, zip up the site and email it to me and I'll have a look
