Default Aging and shaping a photo

I would like to take a scan of a photo and make it look like an old photo out of a box, I would like to slightly curl an edge or two and put in a crease. I have gone through the help folder and the movie files and did a search on the boards, but was unable to find anything that could help. Is it possible to do this with Xara? After that’s done, I would like to put a shadow under it so it looks like it’s sitting on a table.

I attached a photo I would like to try it with.

I don't think this is what you want. Instead of coming from a box I found it under the mattress after a restless night dreaming about how I butcher your beautiful photo. It was done in xara xtreme using plugins and with a good computer that doesn't crash could be done in two minutes.

    Hey P-40

If you want to learn you're better off sticking with Ankhor then following my advice. And keep an eye out for Drifter, Parahandy, Egg, Soquili, Jamesmc, Gary and many, many more. These are the people that will show you a lot of great techniques and will give you lots of inspiration. This is one really great program and you have chanced to find one great forum. Gotta go now cause I'm trying to get a bead on Ankhor for my famous splat splat award because he did a better picture than me. Hats are available in the lobby for 10$ a piece.

And the seagulls in my neighbourhood wouldn`t let you splat me,
for I feed them all the time, so they like me.

    Hi P-40,

    Welcome to the forum.

Using some of the Alien Skin plugins available for Xtreme, the image was 'aged'.

Shoeboxes do pretty well in preserving photos. This one must have been stored in the attic where there was heat and cold extremes. Only slightly handled through the years.

    Hey Egg

Where do you keep coming up with this stuff. You wouldn't be an expert in the game Triva (canadian I do believe) or are you just the author of the British Encyclopidia. And it looks like your one of the last true die hard Xara people left. The rest of us cheated with plugins...God, if I'm babbling I apologize but I'm tired.....got a call last night.....later.....here or another thread.....love this forum

(edit) For your Guinness, go visit the "don't whine for wine thread".....I'm hoping Parahandy will take care of it for me since he is now in the business.
