how to install true type fonts

Could someone please help me install some true type fonts in Xara Xtreme and 3d6?I downloaded some animal fonts to the desktop,and pasted them into the fonts folder for Xara Xtreme,but can't seem to get them to load from there.Could someone help?Thanks!
I get a message saying that there is no font index for the animal file that's in there.How would I generate one?

you should be able to drag (copy) the .ttf files into the C:\windows\fonts directory.

not sure if you have to restart your system afterwards or not.

Do you know anything about 3d6?I would like to know if I can put a rotating button in the same document as rotatoin text.I can create each,but so far not together,I can get text ON the button,but not with it.Thanks for any help you can give. Alice(aka Raffy)
